Breakout aims to:

· Provide guidance and support mechanisms to overcome such barriers.
· Break the cycle of low household work ethic.
· Provide vocational opportunities

· Co-
· Offer support beyond their final destinations if required.
We also work with mainstream education organisations that are required to deliver the national curriculum and embrace the Social Inclusion Policy. Within our geographical area we are recognised, as a referral source to deliver alternative curricular activities to those who do not fit mainstream provision because of they are at risk of exclusion, permanently excluded or refuse to attend.
Breakout is the last chance for many young people, who face permanent exclusion if they do not succeed at Breakout. Success with this particular client group is dependant on the quality and content of support given to these young people and that practical activities are achievable and interesting.
Unfortunately some schools are not very supportive of their pupils, they tend to get left and forgotten and only become involved when it is usually too late. We work in Lowestoft with the Social Inclusion Unit for Northern Area Education, and many of the local High Schools who put together a programme offering an alternative curriculum.
Breakout is fortunate in having a small but very supportive Board which comprises of:
Mrs Shirl Lake (Chair) Mr Matt Mason (Vice Chair) Mr Bede Falkner (Treasurer)
Mr Paul Hale Mr Des Reynolds Mr Adam Roche
All are or have been employed or connected with young people with complex needs and are sympathetic to the difficulties that many of them face on a daily basis.
